“Art from the Heart” (AFTH) is the exhibition and sale of artwork in the Canmore General Hospital, with Shirley Marusaik and Louise Olinger being the principal organizers.
All CAAG members are encouraged to participate.
The next change out of artwork is scheduled for October 14th, 2011 and then February 3rd, 2012. There will be a gala opening on February 11th, 2012.
On the day of the change out, drop off and pick up times are 11:30 am to 12:30 pm and again from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. A maximum of 5 pieces per artist per show will be accepted. A fee of $10.00 per artist is charged at each change out to cover advertising costs and a slush fund in the event of theft or damage to artwork.
Note however, that all artwork is submitted at the artist's own risk, and that neither the Canmore General Hospital nor AFTH is responsible for any theft, loss or damage to artwork.
AFTH will collect 20% of any sales for the Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation, and a receipt will be issued at the end of the year to the artist. A cheque for 80% of any sales will be issued to the artist on the 15th of the month following the sale. The cheque will either be mailed to the artist, or placed in the CAAG mailbox at the Library gallery and the artist so notified.
Participating artists are required to fill out and sign an inventory list and a standard agreement, which outlines the terms and conditions of exhibiting in the hospital. The Consignment form may be filled in ahead of any change out.
