Arlene Curry

I joined CAAG in the early 80's and was awarded a Life Membership in 1997.  I am grateful for CAAG and the inspiration to open Mountain Avens Gallery in June 1986, before it turned to The Avens Gallery in 2001.

Abhaya is my spiritual name given to me while at the Ashram where I took my yoga teacher training in 2004.

I began painting in February 2007 and it has been a rewarding time expressing myself through the medium of paint.  I feel a range of emotions when painting whether it's in the layer process or the uncovering of what's underneath.  I certainly am enjoying the process and the reflection of my life.  I am currently studying with Michelle Miller, an abstract artist in Victoria.

In 2009 I was adjudicated into the Sidney Fine Art Show and was represented at the Victoria Art Gallery Rental Department Small Works Show in December.
