For Gallery security it is important that the Gallery has sitters on duty for each show. Members who exhibit in CAAG shows are expected to sit Gallery shifts.
The shifts are: 2 shifts if one piece of art is submitted to the show and 3 shifts if two pieces are submitted. On submission night you are expected to sign up for the shift that is most suitable for you. A calendar is available for scheduling. Shifts are 3 hours in duration.
As CAAG members it is important that we assist other members when they are having a private show. We do this by volunteering to sit their shows, and signing up for sitting duties once again on the calendar that is available.
Also when we have travelling shows visiting the Gallery, volunteer time is required to sit these shows as well. If you cannot sit your shift try and find a replacement.
****It is IMPORTANT!!! That when you sign-up to sit that you remember and show up. Because&. the person who is sitting prior to you wants to be relieved and they often wait around for the next sitter to show up needlessly. Also the Gallery is closed, locked-up and unavailable to the public when no sitter is there.
This is neglecting our commitment to the Town and the Library.
