Although Canmore is commonly recognised as a centre for recreation, it was formerly a coal mining town. The mines closed in 1979 but the community of Canmore is proud of it's past and celebrates this every year with a parade through the town on Miners Day. CAAG is celebrating the mining past of Canmore with some wonderful art and photographs in the Canmore Library Art Gallery. |
